Jesus Loves me this I know
Jesus loves me this I know, for the bible tells me so; Little ones to Him belong; They are weak but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me, yes Jesus loves me.
The song Jesus loves me was one of the first songs I had learned in church. It became normal to sing the words Jesus loves me over and over again. So much that I didn't quite believe that Jesus really did love me.
I mean, I always knew Jesus loves me because, well, the bible tells me so, but it just wasn't something I really believed. I now believe Jesus loves me more than anyone else ever will.
I remember being at a point in my life where the only person I felt close to was God. No one else seemed to understand what I was dealing with. In those weak moments was when I began to feel God's embraceable love. I began to put all my worries and problems into His hands and every time I was amazed at the way He worked everything out. He really does care about what we want and what we need. Jesus became my best friend,I told him about my day just like I'd tell any best friend of mine. Except when I told Jesus about my day, things always seemed to fall into place.
I spent most of my summer days working at the local grocery store (still currently working there) and it was there that I began to see the way God loves me. When I was having a bad day, I would tell God what was going on and not long after, a member of the church I was currently attending would show up and my whole day would be made. I even remember one day that I had to be at work early in the morning and hadn't had time to eat breakfast so I was telling God about that, then minutes later a customer came in and gave me a breakfast sandwich from McDonald's because he had gotten two and only wanted one. Others may look at it as a coincidence but I look at it as a God thing. He really does love and care for us.
It is my prayer that each and every one of you will feel Gods embraceable love. To not just sing the song Jesus loves me out of habit but out of belief. Knowing and believing that Jesus really does love you. I pray that when you sing Jesus loves me this I know, tears of joy will stream down your face because you can feel his presence with you at that moment and that everyday you will notice the way God loves and cares for you.
